Don’t Let Finances Prevent You from Visiting a Cosmetic Dentist

Cosmetic DentistIf you are interested in visiting a cosmetic dentist, but worried about whether or not insurance will cover it, schedule an appointment with our office.  We believe that every patient should have access to the dental care they need without finances standing in the way. With this in mind, we offer a variety of solutions that include financing.

In our office, we have an insurance specialist that works to specifically help patients to understand their insurance policies and what will be covered.  We can perform a complimentary insurance check on your behalf and work with insurance companies to try and get procedures approved.  Many people don’t realize that cosmetic dentistry does more than simply improve your smile.  It is a way of correcting and treating teeth that is both beautiful and good for your health.  For example, dental veneers are a cosmetic procedure where a thin shell is placed on top of the tooth.  They can be used to create a perfect looking smile but are also used to restore teeth that have become damaged. They can correct holes and chips among other things.  Restorative dentistry is typically something that an insurance company may cover.  Just because you seek treatment that solves the problem doesn’t mean that it can’t look amazing at the same time.

Our imaging technology also helps with getting insurance companies to pay for procedures.  The more information we can share about why dental work is necessary the more likely they are to pay for it.  As a cosmetic dentist office, we are focused on solutions so that our patients can have a healthy smile that also looks beautiful.  Fortunately, Dr. Chau is able to accomplish both at the same time and able to communicate with insurance companies about why a procedure is necessary.

Something to keep in mind is that most insurance companies are happy to pay for preventative dental care.  This includes regular teeth cleanings and dental exams.  Taking advantage of this is important because it will help you to stay healthy in the long run and prevent you from needing major dental work down the road.  For example, a root canal and crown may be needed due to a severe tooth infection.  The root canal will likely be paid for but the insurance company may not want to pay for an all-ceramic crown, opting for a metal one instead.  If, however, you have your teeth examined twice a year, the dentist can catch an infection before it gets to this point, making this a non-issue.  When cavities are caught and treated quickly, the tooth typically won’t need a significant restorative procedure.

If however, you need a procedure that the insurance company is unwilling to pay for, we offer other options.  For example, we have financing available that comes with affordable payment plans so that you can get the work done that you need to feel great, without needing to save up for it.  If our in-house financing options aren’t the best solution, we also work with third-party companies that offer financing.  This way, you don’t have to wait to improve your smile but can schedule your dental work for a time that fits with your schedule.
